What is HEUI Technology?
HEUI (Hydraulically Actuated Electronic Unit Injection) is a specialised fuel injection system used primarily in heavy-duty diesel engines, including:
- Caterpillar (CAT) engines
- Ford Powerstroke (7.3L / 6.0L)
- Isuzu applications
- Various off-highway and industrial equipment
Unlike common rail systems, HEUI injectors use high-pressure engine oil to actuate fuel injection, making them more complex to diagnose and test accurately.
Why HEUI Injectors Require Specialist Testing
HEUI injectors cannot be properly assessed using standard diesel or common rail test equipment. Accurate diagnosis requires:
- Simulation of oil-driven actuation
- Measurement of fuel delivery under load
- Monitoring of leakage and response characteristics
